With more than 30 years of experience, he is recognized for his easel work and large-format works representing the social and aesthetic landscape of the Yucatecan towns. Emphasizing the traditions of the southeast of the country. His work is already considered part of the State heritage and he is a main reference in the contemporary line of Mexican muralists. He was born in 1962 in Buctzotz, Yucatán.

He has held exhibitions in Mérida, Campeche, Quintana Roo, Querétaro, Oaxaca, Tamaulipas, Mexico City and North Carolina in the United States. In 1993, he created La Casa de los Artistas A.C, and in Mérida he presented his first individual exhibition at the Teatro Peón Contreras. In 2004 the Government of the State of Yucatán awarded him the medal for artistic merit.

We can appreciate the painting of maestro Argáez on the walls of several institutes and universities in Merida. Among his most relevant samples is an individual exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MACAY) in Mérida and the Salón de la Plástica Nacional in CDMX. On March 30, 2019, he inaugurated Espacio Argáez in his native Buctzotz.
