Mexican artist born in Oaxaca, dedicated to many artistic disciplines as painting, lithography, pottery, and sculpture on stone, using among these plenty different materials.
He studied at the School of Design and crafts in Mexico City, and at the age of 19 he had already exposed his work in Mexico and Texas. At the decade of 60’s Toledo lived in Paris and 3 years later he had his first exhibition in Europe. He was recognized by the critics on behalf of his “sacred sense of life” that his work shares.
On his return to Mexico, his pictorial technique was more influenced by different European artists, but mainly by the prehispanic codices as he defended and represented his cultural heritage and the colonial style.
