Alfredo Romero
Alfredo Romero was born in 1974 in Barcelona, u200bu200bSpain. He now lives and works in Mexico. Romero studied Fine Arts, Interior Architecture, Graphic Design and Art History at the Rubi School of Applications and Offices of the Arts, Barcelona, u200bu200bSpain; EDRA School of Design, Barcelona, u200bu200bSpain and the Technical School of Architecture, Barcelona, u200bu200bSpain.
Romero is a multidisciplinary artist who works with a wide variety of media, from painting to found objects, strappo, gold leaf, wood, metal and stainless steel. Through his work and career, he has managed to unite the best of both worlds between architecture, design and art, in terms of both two and three dimensions. His artworks have been exhibited in Europe, South America, Asia and the United States, in Biennials, prominent galleries and international art fairs. Romero's artworks are also part of important art collections and museums.
In recent years he has dedicated part of his time to a project that he is passionate about, an archaeological project to safeguard the street culture of Mexico “Vestigios de nuestro tiempo” (Vestiges of our time). In this project he has rescued and given new life to fragments of signs, advertisements, murals and other images found on the streets of Mexico.
