Exhibition is vandalized in the center of Morelia
National | 16 NOV 2023 Por Redacción

Last Wednesday, the 8th, an exhibition of the Prado Museum that was in the historic center of Morelia woke up victim of acts of vandalism.

This exhibition was installed since mid-October and was held as a further step towards the consolidation of Morelia as a cultural city that cares about its development. However, last week, some of the 56 works were found damaged, their bases demolished and one was even stolen.

The Morelia government has not made any statements about it, except that an investigation has been initiated to find the nature and the perpetrators of the incident. For now, it is presumed that they were drunken citizens.

The works are a set of digital reproductions of the most emblematic paintings of the Prado Museum, among these you can find works by El Greco, Francisco Goya, Velázquez, Fra Angelico, Joaquín Sorolla and many more.
