“Crónicas Nefelibatas” inaugurates a collaboration between Hartii and Javier Barrera.
Local | 23 SEP 2021 Por Redacción

On September 22, an event was held as part of a Hartii proposal to promote local art and organize more cultural activities that help the development and trade of art in Yucatan.

This event was the inauguration of the exhibition "Crónicas Nefelibatas" by the Yucatecan artist Javier Barrera. The series of 11 pieces was made with the encaustic technique, characterized by being difficult to master completely, as well as the animal emotions with which the characters in the works coexist. The technique and the metaphors come together to create a semiotic discourse that expresses some of the difficulties we go through by restricting certain emotions, but we are forced to discover and experience.

The inauguration was attended by Professor Loreto Villanueva Trujillo, Secretary of Culture and the Arts of Yucatan, as well as the founders of Hartii, Ricardo Ponce Gutiérrez and Blanca Pérez Montalvo, and of course, the artist Javier Barrera.

“Crónicas Nefelibatas” is located on the fourth floor of Plaza Península, in Prolongación Montejo, and will be available until mid-November. Visits can be guided and private through Hartii.

This is the first installment of this project directed by Hartii, which will have more exhibitions of other artists in the future, seeking a continuous diffusion of art in Mérida, Yucatán. The organization is also in charge of providing art services such as restoration, packaging, cataloging, framing, transfer and assembly, among others; as well as facilitating the contemplation, administration, promotion and acquisition of works of art through its digital platforms such as a mobile application, website and social networks.
